Interested in Freemasonry?

One of the strongest landmarks of Freemasonry is that Masonic lodges do not solicit members.  If you believe that masonry is for you, then you must seek it out.

To be considered to be a member of a Masonic Lodge:

• You must have attained the age of 18 years by the time your application is received.

• You must be a believer in a Supreme Being.

• Of good moral conduct; a conviction of certain felonies and crimes of moral turpitude will prohibit a man from becoming a Freemason.  Before balloting upon your application you must agree to a full background investigation including possible criminal records that will be conducted.  Lack of full disclosure of any information on your application will be considered as to your character.

• Without physical or mental impairment that would prevent you from learning and practicing the principals of Masonry or which would create a burden upon the lodge.

  • Membership in Masonry is not a secret; all members are free to acknowledge their membership. There is no secret about any of Masonry’s aims or principles. Masonry’s constitutions and rules are available to the public, and meeting locations are clearly identifiable. However our lodge’s internal affairs, such as lodge business, finances, ceremonies, grips, and passwords, are regarded as private matters for members only.  The most sacred secret is the ballot box.

  • Masonry does not endorse political candidates or legislation, and the discussion of politics at Masonic meetings is not allowed.

  • Masonry is not a religion, nor is it a substitute for religion. The fraternity requires its members to have a belief in a Supreme Being, but the fraternity itself is not affiliated with any religion, and men of all faiths are represented in the fraternity. Religion is not discussed at lodge meetings.

  • Freemasonry is recognized as a private fraternity and as such it may discriminate against certain classes of persons.  By Masonic Law masonry only withholds membership from women and atheists.

  • That Masonry is not a charity, however as good men we are involved in charitable endeavors.
